| I was born and raised on the Mississippi River just north of Sartell, Mn (St. Cloud) into a
large family that taught me to enjoy and respect the beauty of the outdoors. I spent my childhood learning how
to catch just about every species of fish that swims in this vast system. It was
at this time that I learned the basic principals of presentations that work successfully for all species from the freshwater carp to
the walleye and everything else in between. Since the days of my childhood, my passion for fishing has grown
to the point that my time on the water annual exceeds 200+ days split between guiding and tournament fishing
for both walleye and smallmouth bass.

It is my goal as a guide and tournament fisherman to pass on what I know and love about this sport to anglers of all ages.
My philosophy is to incorporate education and instruction into every enjoyable trip on the water and
offer something extra few others do... I move around to stay on the best
bite available for trophy fish instead of fishing through slow bite periods on my "home" body of water. This allows
me to consistently offer my customers an unsurpassed fishing experience.

just about every time I come off the water!
The 2004 open water season goes down as one of the best seasons for myself and my customers. Last summer (May-July) on Mille Lacs Lake we saw an overall cool month of June for
my open water trolling bite for suspended walleyes, but by month's end we were rewarded with 19 walleyes over the 28" mark for a brief 2 week period. Thats alot of big fish in a short amount of time. Open water trolling is definately a big fish producer! Next on the calendar was my
ritual 2 month walleye free time period where I take an well deserved break from the walleyes and chase one of my favorite childhood species...The mighty river smallmouth bass. Nothing pound for pound pulls harder in the freshwater environment. Many fish over the 20" mark made their way to the boat
in the month's of August and September including a nice 22" brute that tipped the scales at a whopping 6 pounds! Quickly I gathered all my trolling gear and headed back to Mille Lacs for my annual October fall twilight huge walleye hunt where we find walleyes very aggressive in 5-10 foot of water chasing small slowly
delivered crankbaits. This is a bite that is as predictable as the next sunrise, and for good reason its a chance to boat the biggest walleye of an angler's lifetime. Experience it! To wrap up years end, I headed back to the Mississippi River for a cold water walleye bite that is second to none.
Catching huge walleyes in shallow water in light spinning gear with 1/16th to 1/8th oz jigs coupled with finesse plastics is some of the best river walleye action you may ever experience. Catching fish in the 7-9 pound range became a nightly occurence including many fish over the 10 pound mark plus a 12 pound beauty!
